Cheaty lamb-rub lamb

Cheaty lamb-rub lamb (serves two)

Ingredients:
4 small lamb steaks, or lamb chops
one big onion
fresh rosemary
for the rub:
one knorr lamb stock cube
half a tsp squeezy garlic
1 tsp olive oil

1) Preheat the oven to ... I dunno, "medium-hot".

2) Squidge up the ingredients for the rub, and rub it all over the lamb steaks

3) Slice the onion into chunky rings and lay them in the bottom of a baking tray

4) Put three or four sprigs of fresh rosemary on top of the onion

5) Lay the rubbed-up lamb on top of the rosemary

6) Cook for 20-30 mins (depending on how you like your lamb)

Remove the rosemary before serving (it's bitter). Nice with peas and new potatoes (the lamb, that is, not the rosemary. Throw the rosemary away. Bad rosemary). Make a gravy, if you like, using the juices from the pan, but you will need to spoon off some of the oil first - lambs are greasy little buggers.

Bosh.

Is wondering two things..

- what is that little orange linky thing doing next to your post title?
- why is your rosemary bitter? shouldn't be. (maybe it needs pruning more, so you get the sweet soft shoots?)

I see no linky thing.
Oh, do you mean when you look at the list of topics? If you're logged in, a tiny orangey square appears next to new, unread posts. If you click it, you'll go straight to the first unread post. Is that it?

Pruning? Shoots? It's supermarket rosemary :-$
(Mostly because I'm lazy, but also because I Kill Things.)

Even if it's not bitter, you'll be picking it out of your teeth all night. :-?? 's'up to you - leave it in if you like!

Very useful. Thank you!

See, rosemary is very, very easy to grow and is absolutely delicious straight from the garden. Someone will now give you a good sized cutting in a pot and you can try to kill it, but won't succeed. Completely different to the forced stuff, almost free and probably indispensable if you love lamb, or new potatoes.
